April 8 Weekly Recap

kingslayer invitational season 2

Every new week at Kingslayer Games means a new week of grinding points and a new week of competition. Every Monday we will review the previous week and spotlight one or more decks.

Going forward, Standings will be updated at blog.kingslayergames.com/standings-season-2 three times a week at minimum, on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

If you go undefeated at n event, let a Staff member know and they can take a picture of your decklist for the recap.

Standings have been updated. You can find them at blog.kingslayergames.com/standings-season-2 or in the Invitational Standings tab above.

Every week of events means new friendships, new triumphs, and that endless progression of ambition on the ladder to success. Most of us come for the Magic, and stay for the people, and this week is no exception. This week we have our normal recap but have chosen an article from our Archives as an accompanying content piece. You can check out our first From the Archives article here, where Dylan breaks down his Invitational preparation and speaks about the importance of Community.

Tron triumphs on Thursday, as Sean McCarthy takes down Andrew Farris in an exciting matchup. Overcoming Arclight Phoenix on his way to the final match, Sean’s Wurmcoil laden list proved too much for the creature-heavy metagame. We’ve featured Sean’s decklist below.

Anthony Garcia Amulet Titan 3-1 3

Never one to shy away from Aether Vial, Bastion secures himself a 4-0 finish with Mono White Taxes — an Eldrazi and Taxes variant, but without the Tidehollow Sculler. This proved too much for renowned pants specialist Jose Santana and his Bogles.

Bobby McCamey Dredge 3-1 3
Greg Pupura Tron 3-1 3

Jason Jahromi Mono White 3-1 3
